Walt Uotinen has worked in the computer field since the late 70's, where he began his full-time computer-related career as a COBOL programmer.

In the years that followed, he has become involved in many areas of computer technology including hardware, operating system and application software, system installation and troubleshooting, help desk operation and training.

He has extensive knowledge of the Unix operating system, having worked with it since the early 80's, and was certified by Sun Microsystems in 1996 as a Solaris 2.5 System Administrator. He has taught Solaris Administration classes offered by Sun while working full time for a Sun Alliance Partner in Dearborn, MI.

Walt has been dedicated primarily to classroom teaching since 1994, and has successfully taught many classes for customers such as AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Sun Microsystems, United Parcel Service, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Chase Bank, Pratt & Whitney, NASA (JPL and Goddard) and Comp USA, to name just a few. Walt continues to receive "A+" feedback from his classroom audiences.

Walt is the currently the owner of Top Shelf Technologies, based in Clifton, NJ.
